I have TWO HUNDRED PAGES of books downloaded onto my Kindle. And yet I keep buying more books. This is a problem. I am trying to work my way through some of the older ones to clear out my backlog and some of them were real winners. I read 12 books in September and these were my faves. Please, please read A Very Punchable Face by Colin Jost, even if you don’t watch SNL. I was literally shaking with laughter while tears streamed down my face. My husband Dan was so annoyed with me—until he read it and then had the same reaction. The Last Flight by Julie Clark is a great thriller about two women with big secrets who swap boarding passes and then one plane goes down. Thanks Mom for the recommendation! I won’t shut up about Kate Reed Petty's inventive True Story. Fifteen years removed from an alleged sexual assault told from various viewpoints. This will definitely be on a ton of best books of the year lists! I dug Days of Awe by Lauren Fox out of the depths of my Kindle and loved it. The story of a woman whose life is falling apart, you can’t help but root for her. Finally, another book from the vault—West of Sunset, a fictionalization of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s last years, reminded me how much I love anything Stewart O’Nan writes. He’s so under appreciated. All his books are different and incredibly written. The Good Wife, which I read 15 years ago, still stays with me.
