Gin & Tonics go spicy for Cinco de Mayo
My friend Eve makes killer chili-lime gin & tonics. Chili + Lime says Mexico to me! Ole!
Mix it Up
Muddle together in a cocktail shaker:
2 shots of your favourite gin (for this drink we love Paper Lantern)
Juice from half a lime, plus lime half to release oils from rind
1chili padi or Thai chili slit length-wise OR for Cinco de Mayo try a generous slice of jalapeño Fill a large Burgundy wine glass 1/3 with ice cubes. Pour in gin mixture. Top with Fever Tree Refreshingly Light Tonic Water (or your favourite tonic) and slightly stir. Garnish with a lime wedge.
Tips: To increase the heat muddle the chili enough so all the seeds come out; add a bit of cilantro for a refreshing twist.
